While the program is funded by the parents of the school, The Village School students and their parents send their gratitude to the NNUMC congregation for the privilege of attending their wonderful school, which the church is sponsoring.
The Village School is solely funded by tuition money paid by the parents and by fundraising on the part of parents in the PTO program. NNUMC members have built beautiful, much-needed buildings for our children’s ministry programs, which are highly used on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. The school has greatly enhanced the program and outreach ministries of the church. Much of the equipment used by the children’s ministry department has been purchased by the school, enhancing the quality of the program for all children. The school is completely self-sufficient financially and makes a contribution to the church to offset expenses for utilities and custodial services.
The Village School Board
The governing board of the school programs is made up of 12 members of the church, who are elected by the United Methodist Charge Conference each year. The board members must be full members of NNUMC and serve a three-year term with a rotation, consistent with all church committees. The function of this group is to set school policies and procedures, oversee the budget and monitor the daily operations of the program.
